Notice of the Electioneering Society of Chinese residents

in Hongkong.

Now that the time for the election of members of the Legislature by the Chinese residents abroad is very near, no time should be lost in making the various necessary preparations. Reference to regulation 40 of the regulations in respect of the constitution of the National Assembly and the election thereto of members by the Chinese abroad shows that for the foundation of any "Electioneering Society of Chinese abroad" in any foreign Colony where Chinese reside, the various Commercial Associations in the Colony which have been duly recognised by the Goverment of our country should each elect one of their respective members for the purpose. Now therefore we issue this notice calling attention to this requirement and request that each association will fill in without delay the various particulars in the forms sent to you and return them to us for the necessary registration, and appoint from your respective members a deputy to this Society for the manage- -ment of the various affairs in connection with election. We hope to receive your replies within four days after the issue of this notice, that so a meeting of the members of this Society so elect- -ed may be convened in time to discuss the necessary measures to be adopted in the interests of the public.
